DoYourOwnSite! supports Director Ian Carrott on 360 mile Bike Ride |
| Press Release 1st May 2009 |
|
We are very excited to be supporting our Marketing Director Ian Carrott in the London to Paris 2009 Bike Ride this July.
This is a great event which will raise awareness and donations for Action Medical Research.
Action Medical Research fund many projects every year which will lead to a healthier future for everyone.
In it's 50 year history they have been involved with numerous medical breakthroughs including ultrasound in pregnancy, the polio vaccine and the hip replacement operation.
They are currently campaigning for the UK Government to put more money in to research into Premature Birth. Action Medical Research have already funded over £2 million of research in this area, but more is required for us to understand why this remains the biggest killer of under 1's.
"Action Medical Research is a great charity and I am really excited about taking part in this fun (if difficult) event to raise awareness and funds for the work they do." - Ian Carrott, DoYourOwnSite! Ltd

| Press Release 12th January 2009 |
|
DoYourOwnSite! are deeply saddened by the news that explorer and mountaineer Rob Gauntlett and a close friend both aged 21 have died in a tragic climbing accident in the Alps this weekend.
Director of DoYourOwnSite! Limited Ian Carrott worked with Rob on his last expedition for which Rob and his fellow adventurer James Hooper were named National Geographic 2008 Adventurers Of the Year.
|
|
The award was in recognition of a 22,000 mile journey travelling from the Magnetic North Pole to the Magnetic South Pole using only human and natural power to raise awareness of climate change to people throughout the world.
Rob had a natural ability to inspire people he came into contact with both young and old and they invariably benefited from the experience.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Rob Gauntlett and those of his close friend James Atkinson.

DoYourOwnSite! applauds the success of two young Sussex explorers |
| Press Release 25th April 2008 | |
Proud sponsors DoYourOwnSite! would like to congratulate two young explorers from West Sussex, Rob Gauntlett and James Hooper, on completing their Pole to Pole Challenge! Having set off on Monday 19th March 2007 from the Magnetic North Pole they arrived at the Magnetic South Pole on 24th April 2008.
The two youngsters wanted to highlight important environmental issues such as climate change and how different parts of the world have been affected. By being the first people to travel from the North Pole to the South Pole by human and natural power alone they have demonstrated that the younger generation of today care about the future of our planet.

Rob and James, with advice and consultation from DoYourOwnSite! directors Simon Kimber and Ian Carrott, have used the internet to provide people from all over the world with an opportunity to watch their every move as they skied, sailed, cycled and then sailed again for 52,000 gruelling miles. With educational content provided on the www.180degrees.com website (Built by Deconstruct Ltd) schools have had access to an exciting and modern teaching resource. The Pole to Pole Challenge has provided another reminder especially to the younger generation that we need to look after our world.
The boys will be arriving on dry land direct from the Magnetic South Pole on the sailing yacht The Blizzard on 9th of May 2008 and berthing at the Heritage Pontoon, Australian National Museum. Ian Carrott on behalf of everyone at DoYourOwnSite Ltd, will be in Sydney to congratulate Rob and James on their wonderful achievement.
